Sales Information

Award winning Sauvignon from a region primed for high quality varietal character. A distinctive bouquet of key lime curd and guava, with a hint of sea salt leading to a palate full of exuberant citrus, layers of ginger, white pepper, with a slightly flinty mineral backbone with bright, refreshing acidity. Consultant winemaker (and New Zealand native) Grant Phelps lends a distinctively kiwi touch to the punchy fruited style.

Try matching with goat cheese salad with rocket, or as a refreshing aperitif

The Vineyard

Casas del Bosque is a premium boutique Chilean winery located in the region of Casablanca Valley, 60 miles north-west of the capital city Santiago. Twice awarded Chile’s Winery of the Year in the IWSC (International Wine and Spirits Competition), they are located in the cooler western side of Casablanca Valley, their most easterly vineyards reaching just 20 miles from the Pacific coastline.

The direct sea influence of the Humboldt current, which carries winds from Antarctica up the length of the American continent, gives grapes an extra 10 days of hangtime in comparison to warmer vineyards further inland.

The cool-climate growing region of Casablanca Valley has a young history, dating back only as far as the 1980s, when the revitalisation of the Chilean industry led pioneering winemakers to start expansion projects into uncharted territories. The heavily ocean-influenced area was quickly recognised for the quality of fruit grown. Pinot Noir thrives in the cool ocean breezes, but the standout production is of snappy Sauvignon Blanc and bright Chardonnay with refreshing acidity.
