Chateau Lynch Bages 2004

Very dark in color. Sort of a candy-apple redish purple. The nose has some earthy new leather scents mixed with a bit of fruit. The fruit is mostly in the background at this point but it is still present throughout the nose and palate and maybe with some time it will start to show through a little better. Tannins are firm but not bitter or astringent and give way to a smooth overall texture. This is quite pleasing now and didn't really need any extra time to open up.
