Geografico Chianti Colli Senesi is brick red in color with a nose of berries, cherries and spice. Light-medium in body with mild tannins and no oak. It has crisp acidity and flavors of cherry, blackberry, strawberry and spice. Well balanced to enjoy over the next 4-5 years, it is easy-going and food-friendly with a clean, smooth finish.

Ruby red tending to garnet with ageing. Intensely vinous on the nose. An harmonious, dry wine.

The Vineyard

In 1961, growers representing one of the most prestigious Chianti Classico zones joined forces to create a cooperative with the objective of improving management of their wines. All they could not achieve individually they wanted to do collectively. More modern cellars and equipment were the first results of this program, which led on to more diligent care of the vineyards and the hiring of real professionals and experts in every sector. Today, Agricoltori del Chianti Geografico has 200 members, consisting of owners of properties located in Tuscany’s most outstanding production zones. Together they cultivate 571 hectares (1,410 acres) of vines. 486 of these hectares are entered as DOCG category on the national vineyard register, which is the Italian wine sector’s highest recognition of quality. The predominant varietal, which can be described as ‘princely’ because of its quality is indisputably Sangiovese. This extremely well managed cooperative produces excellent results. Their philosophy is based on the understanding that ‘wine is one of life’s pleasures and as such should be available to everyone’.
