Le Page de Vignelaure Red 2006

Le Page de Vignelaure is a full expression of the potential of Cabernet Sauvignon on Château Vignelaure terroir. Blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% merlot it is a full body red wine with a lot of ripe black fruits, nice tannins and plenty of toasty notes coming from one year barrel aging. This blend can start to be drunk now but it has a potential of aging up to 5 years. It is Vin de Pays because of french regulation. The terroir of Château Vignelaure is 100% classified AOC Coteaux D’Aix en Provence but the percentages of the 2 médoc varieties impose Vin de Pays Coteaux du Verdon name...

Chateau Vignelaure "the vineyard of the sacred spring" is the jewel in the crown of the appellation Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence. Set high in the hills, our vineyards cover more than 60 hectares and it has established a reputation as one of the finest producers in the South of France. The wines is a perfect example of Provencal winemaking at the highest level and are made of grapes which includes some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in the 1960's from cuttings from Chateau La Lagune. Vignelaure has a long tradition of producing highly rewarded wines, which are classical, elegant and pure, while at the same time pushing boundaries and concepts of what is possible to achieve.
