Pago de Cirsus Cuvee Especial
Tempranillo Merlot Syrah
Dark cherry red colour, the nose is complex combining balsamic aromas with red berries. The palate is silky, syrupy, velvety and full-bodied with a long and powerful aftertaste.
Enjoy with smoked Idiazabal, Roquefort, cured Manchego, stews and traditional meat dishes.
The wine was aged in French oak casks for 12 months, followed by another 12 months in bottle before release to market. The blend comprises 40% Tempranillo, 30% Merlot and 30% Syrah.
The 135 hectares of southerly vineyards are planted with Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and small grain Muscat. The average yield per hectare is intentionally reduced to approximately 4,000-4,500 kilos, which is much lower than what is regulated by the region’s control board. The result is excellent quality grapes with good colour that produce elegant wines with good body and a powerful structure.
