This predominantly Mourvedre based Bandol, also has Cinsault for its fresh, silky elegance, Grenache to round off the wine and give it body, strength and bouquet, and Syrah in small quantities to give verve to the wine and slight hints of liquorice. This is drinking Bandol. It is spicy, warm offers a rich mouthfell of blackcurrent and cherries.

A deep ruby colour. Aromas of dark fruit. Intense smooth tannins. After 5 or 6 years aging, the wine will develop notes of leather, forest floor and small red fruit.

The wine is a deep purple with red fruit aromas predominating, particularly blackberry (hence the name), blueberry and black cherry. On the palate the deep red fruits continue into plum and spice flavors. The tannins are in the background, supporting the ripe fruit flavors.
