Straw-colored in the glass, giving off the fresh scent of peach and light mineral tones. On the palate, this wine has a weighty body with a freshness from the perfect balance of acidity and soft, ripe fruit.

Enjoy with asparagus with eggs and prosciutto, rice with zucchini and shrimp, or pasta with a pesto sauce.

The Vineyard

After harvest, the grapes are subject to soft pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures, so to preserve the delicate aromas of Malvasia. The wine remains in steel containers for six months in contact with native yeasts before bottling.

At the time of Imperial Rome, the Colli Lanuvini area produced wines that graced celebrated banquets held by Roman patricians. It was the Romans who exported the culture of wine-making to their colonies which fostered the creation of all the enological varieties we enjoy today. From this point of view, the hills just south of Rome can be considered the enological cradle of the Old World.

Solonio’s vineyards are located in Lanuvio about 30 kilometers south of Rome. Spread along the Colli Albani hills, they are an integral part of the ‘Castelli Romani’ Regional Park, a protected nature area in the Lazio Region
