Waipara Springs 2007 Premo Dry Riesling
Nice fresh lemon zest flavours are partying with some crisp green apples here. With nice fruit and good acidity Waipara offers an easy drinking introduction in the world of New Zealand Rieslings at a fantastic price point!
This is a wine crafted with structure, concentration, and longevity in mind. Clean ripe fruit was harvested and vinified using traditional techniques of foot stooping, skin contact and native yeast. The resulting wine has intense peach aromas, a richly textured and structured palate with a minerality derived from the clay soils and is complimented by crisp clean acidity.
After evaluation of each block, labour intensive canopy manipulation is carried in accordance to the style of wine each parcel contributes to the overall blend.
Covering an area of 26 hectares, the Waipara Springs Estate Vineyard contains some of the oldest own rooted Mendoza clone Chardonnay in New Zealand, a mixture of Pinot noir clones predominantly 10/5 and mass selections of Riesling and Sauvignon blanc.
