New Wines – A lot of new wines

May 3rd, 2018

We have so many new wines in as well as old favourites back in stock ( remember that fantastic organic Grenache from Tempore ).

Its part of the special offer, where there is a Free bottle when you buy any mix of 6 new wines. The new wines ( by region ) that have arrived in include :

ITALY

from Abruzzo

Two new wines from that perrenial favourite, Montepuliciano d’Abruzzo. First up is Terre Sabelli Montepuliciano d’Abruzzo €14.99 and for just a few dollars more you can get a richer more luxurious style Contea di Bordino Montepuliciano d’Abruzzo €16.99

The same producer also makes a lovely Entry Level for €11.99 ( before the deal ) Red called Feudi Aragonesi Rosso & a White called Feudi Aragonesi Bianco – these would make a great communion / confirmation / wedding / party wine. Ask us for special pricing if you’re having a party.

Don’t forget we loan out wine glasses on a first come first served basis .. when you buy the wine from us of course

Also priced at €14.99 are two new whites – one you will have heard of ( Pinot Grigio ), and the other maybe not so much, but well worth a try.

Villa Adami Pinot Grigio & Villa Adami Falanghina

For me, the 2 local whites are the star whites and in particular the Trebbiano. Fantastic qualiity at €14.99

There is also a Pecorino ( great local white wine style that is huge in Italy but a little unknown here  ).

If you like an Amore style wine without the price point ( or high alcohol, then you have to try the Collefrisio Appassimento. Fantastico and half the price of a decent Amarone at €25

The new vintage of the always popular Mirabello Pinto Grigio is here the new vintage is super – they have changed the rules in Italy on what can be put into it and you can really taste the difference.

The Truffle Hunter Barbera is also back from Piedmonte – from the near the hills of Barolo, but with a much more approchable style and price.

South Africa

A new blend of Cabernet Franc – Merlot blend from Paarl for €14.99

Portugal

Our Portuegese range is growing and we really hope to grow it more.

From the up and coming Dao we have a range called Prunus that are a steal at €12.99 and come in red and white.

The star is possibly the Crianza style Bergamota at €14.99

We have a reserve wine from Alentejano that has been flying since it came in. Its called Santos de Casa and might be my wine of the year, but its only May and we have new wines from Tuscany, Sicily, Bordeaux and beyond on the way.But it will be in the final reckoning.

We also have 2 new Ports – a Ruby port and an LBV- a little out of season but its nice to start working on that range.

Spain

If your’re bored of Prosecco and not quite ready to treat yourslef to Duval Leroy champagne, why not try our lovely new Cava at €22

One of the stars of our Christmas specials, the New vintages of Marques de Alfamen are in.

We’ve added a new Crianza Red and a delightful summer white – from €11.99

The organic Tempore range is back in and the star of last year among it, the Finca Vasallo Garnacha. We sold out of this so quickly last year and it has become very popular across the world, so we had to fight to keep our price. I had this last night and it is sensational at €16.99

France

New vintages of Viranel are tasting fantastic and i met Arnaud recently to be sure to be sure.

There is also new additions from the South West including a St Mont Rose and Red ( the ladies are loving the new label on the Gueles wine ). There are 3 different winemakers faces on the wine and its random in each box.A lucky dip ( but the wine is the same )

We also have a new Madiran Red if you like your Reds beefy. This is one to put down or would make a super present. The bottle is gorgeous but the wine is even better.

We have a very juicy Cotes du Rhone White that’s hot of the boat.

Chateau Bauduc ( Red, White & Rose ) are all back and  the 2015 Red is particularly good after a few difficult vintages. I tested it along with the others during my visit there last November.
