Tasting Notes
Deep garnet red in colour, the nose pronounced with morello cherry and damson to the fore backed up by heady floral notes and hints of garrigue and spice. Chewy black fruit dominates the palate with a refreshing acidity and drying tannins supporting layers of black tea, roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate.
Producer
Linhas Tortas — ‘crooked lines’ — references the rows of old vines as they snake over and around the undulating hillsides of the Douro valley.
This single vineyard blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Cão, indigenous Douro grapes synonymous with Port production, is fermented in stainless steel before ageing in a mix of American and French oak barrels for 12 months.
Serve this up with lamb chops, smoked sausage or mature cheeses.
