Absolutely sumptuous 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, non-vintage Champagne. The ONLY Champagne selected by Wine Spectator in its 2008 Top 100!

Duval-Leroy was founded in 1859 in Vertus in the Cote des Blancs, Champagne, and remains there to this day under the same ownership, having been handed from father to son since. It is the last Champagne house of this size to remain totally independent and latest owner Madame Carol Duval-Leroy, who personally overseas the wine-making process, intends for it to remain so.

Duval-Leroy is also one of the last Champagne houses to use the Saignee method which exemplifies the focus of traditional methods of Champagne making. High quality stocks of reserve wines preserve the quality and consistency of style which Duval-Leroy is now renowned for

The Vineyard
Founded in 1859, Duval-Leroy is today run by Belgian Carol Duval-Leroy, who took control of the estate after her husband Jean Charles died suddenly in 1991. As well as presiding over a long period of growth and success, she has also left her mark on the wider champagne world, becoming in 2007 the first woman ever to be nominated chairman of the AVC, Champagne's winemakers' association. Carol's four sons work alongside her.

"Over the last 10 years, the quality of Duval-Leroy has soared and for a few years now it has been possible to claim that no other house can beat it for consistency of style - not even the greatest of the great" - Tom Stevenson, writing in Decanter magazine.
