Sales Information
Very intense cherry colour with purple rim. It has an intense aroma which evokes strawberries and raspberries, with a hint of spice (nutmeg, pepper). Fine toasted and creamy notes from the oak, combining vanilla and coffee. It is meaty on the palate.
Drink on its own or with seared tuna with saffron paella or paprika chicken pie.

The Vineyard
Muñoz farms 400 ha of gnarled old vines, with an average age of 40 years and its winemaking facilities include 1,500 ageing barrels and a state-of-the-art bottling line that ensures clean, fruity wines. Today, the third generation of the family lives on the estate, above the 17th-century cellar where the best of Muñoz wines enjoy a “calm, transcendental” period of maturation.
Grenache is one of the world's most-planted varieties, but it enjoys little consumer recognition as it is generally hidden away in blends, with Syrah and Mourvèdre being the usual partners. At its best in warmer regions like the south of France, Iberia and Australia, it tends to give wines that are relatively pale in colour, high in alcohol and with exotic, unique flavours. Synonyms include Garnacha (Spain) and Cannonau (Sardinia).
